I know what you’re thinking; “Any paper bag is “washable” …once.”
Well, not when it’s Kraft-Tex.
It’s basically very dense paper. Marketed as a “vegan leather alternative”, I thought to give it a try in a typical leather application such as a wallet, and while it certainly looks like a wallet; it is still paper. It can’t escape its texture.
But that’s fine; because, unlike “paper” paper, this can be laundered and dried. Even ironed if you’re particularly…neat. A quick scan through ideas on youtube returns many videos on different ways to layer it, or decorate it. It can be printed on as well. The fact that the picture drawn will not come off in the wash, also means the ketchup dropped won’t either. Oh, yes, why would one wash it in the first place? ‘Cause it’s dirty. Moving on, this is a proto-type. The production model will include, flannel lining with fleece insulation all around. Inside is a pocket with a flannel napkin included. Add your ketchup packets and plastic tableware and head to the zoo for a picnic! Um, well…lunch food too.
So, I got to visit with my sis-in-law (an amazing person, truly amazing. I’ll tell ya, if there were more people like her, it would be a beautiful world indeed) I wrote that in Trump’s voice; and looking at her craft work I had more than a few ideas germinate, now some of them have taken root and are starting to sprout. I’ve reconfigured the design for ease of manufacturing and final appearance.
Logistically, I ought to have a production model by end of day tomorrow.
Prepare yourselves.
